Comprehensive Guide: Installing Firmware on Allwinner A133 Devices

  • When finished, the tool will display "Upgrade Finished" or "Success".
  • Unplug the USB cable.
  • The tablet may reboot automatically. If it does not, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds to turn it on.
  • First Boot: The first boot after flashing takes a long time (optimizing apps). Be patient.

Software Requirements:

  • While holding the button/shorting the test points, plug the other end of the USB cable into the A133 device’s OTG port.
  • Release the button or test points after 2-3 seconds.
    • Install sunxi-tools (contains sunxi-fel) and other utilities.
    • Use phoenix_usb to enter mask ROM mode if needed:
      sudo phoenix_usb -w u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin
      
    • Or use sunxi-fel to write images to eMMC:
      sudo sunxi-fel -p spiflash-write 0 path/to/image.img
      
      (Exact commands vary by image and toolchain.)
