Overview — MAME 2003-Plus ROMset Archive

• MAME 0.78 (2003): This was a landmark release. It represented a "sweet spot" where emulation was mature enough to run thousands of games (CPS1, CPS2, Neo Geo, early 80s classics) but before the project shifted toward extreme accuracy (which requires high CPU power).
• The Problem: The official MAME 0.78 romset is old. It doesn't support many popular hacks, homebrew games, or later bug fixes.
• The Solution: MAME 2003 Plus.
