If you previously purchased the software, your activation key (or serial number) can usually be found in these locations: Original Purchase Email

  1. PaintShop Pro (2018 and newer) – File > Import > PhotoImpact UFO File.
  2. GIMP – Requires a plugin called ufo2png or UFO Import. Not perfect, but functional.
  3. Online converters (Zamzar, Convertio) – Convert UFO to PNG or TIFF (flattens layers).
  4. Last resort: Install PhotoImpact X3 on an old Windows XP virtual machine (VirtualBox or VMware) with your original key, then export each layer to PNG/PSD.
