Here is the exact process for both normal updates (ZIP) and forced/emergency updates (IMG). TCL 55C2US is a 4K UHD Android TV,

1. Download the IMG file (e.g., V8-T586T01-LF1V634.img). It will be 1.5–2.5 GB in size.
2. Rename the IMG file exactly to: MstarUpgrade.bin (case-sensitive).
3. Copy MstarUpgrade.bin to the root of your FAT32 USB drive.
4. Unplug the TV from power.
5. Insert the USB drive.
6. Locate the physical joystick/button on the back of the TCL 55C2US (usually on the bottom-left, behind the panel).
7. Press and hold the Power button or the OK/Enter button on the joystick.
8. While holding, plug the power cord back in. Keep holding for 10 seconds.
9. A blue or white screen will appear with text: "Firmware updating, please do not turn off." Release the button.
10. Wait 15–30 minutes. The TV will reboot automatically into a fresh Android TV setup.
